Chica and the Folder
42 Mädchen
Monika

Chica and the Folder's album is pleasantly abstract. The music is eclectic and the vocal tracks are curious and rich. The instrumental ones are soothing and odd. The minimal "Al que toca la hora" drifts by in a haze of clikcing beats and stylish samples. "Tibetteppich" employs Suzana Sucic's sweet vocals over an asian-sounding background. "A certain track" is a dreamy lament sung by Jose Gonzalez.

"I'll Come Running" is a Brian Eno song that Chica and the Folder find an original approach to. "Daleko" goes from calm verse to punky chorus in a heartbeat.

It's an intriguing and unusual album all told.
