Mary Sarah calls her music "new world ambient soul". That is well reflected on this disc. Mary Sarah's music is soothing but not without danger. The title track sees her and musical partner Danys Levasseur harmonizing in a relaxed fashion. "Kia Mu Ficae" is both rhythmic and otherworldly thanks to Mary Sarah's eerie vocals. Here she recalls Angelique Kidjo a little. On "Crier" she comes close to Lisa Gerrard's inspired vocalizing in Dead Can Dance. She switches from a very high register to lower tones seemingly without effort.
