Wave Mechanics Union is a jazz band that plays modern and progressive music. "Selfless, Cold and Composed" by Ben Folds gets a reading that sounds light and gives Lydia McAdams a good focus for her gorgeous vocals. "It will be a Good Day (the River)" is a Yes song featuring their singer Jon Anderson on unmistakable lead vocals set to a soft backing.

"Swordfishtrombones" by Tom Waits gets a complex and gorgeous reading. McAdams' voice is husky and right at home with the sophisticated backing. "Slow Like Honey" by Fiona Apple gets a sultry reading that they make their own. McAdams' voice is electric here and Sylvain Carton's guitar is wonderfully played. The grand finale is Queen's "The Show must go on", it's a fitting grand note to bow out on. The group bring their all to this great album.
