Jayme Dawicki
Love Love
Jayme Dawicki

Jayme Dawicki follows her impressive record Shatter Queen with an equally cool new album. Opener "One More Year" sees her at her most mellifluous, playing her piano at the height of her ability.

"72 ½ Toyota Truck" is inspired by Dawkici's mother and is an upbeat and likeable song. Dawkici uses some vocal tricks that should please fans of Regina Spektor though she's her own woman. "Happy New Year" seems upbeat and happy, but it has a darker strain moving through it, and she handles it well. The closing "Save Me" has some utterly gorgeous piano pits as she sings of love in a far from cloying way. The tune is a fitting end to this lovely album.
