Lua Hadar with Twist
Lua Hadar... With Twist
Bellalua Records

Lua Hadar and her band play a vivacious brand of jazz on their new record, mixing songs on an inspired fashion.

"Twilight World/dancing in the dark" shows the band at their most inspired, Hadar crooning in inimitable fashion. "All I Want" by Joni Mitchell gets a lovely reading, Hadar's vocal beautifully capturing the lyrics. Hadar's own "No Borders" is a swinging number with a cool chorus. "Siboney" is a lesser known gem, red nerd with passion and grace. It swings in a Latin kind of a way. The closing "Vorrei" is a good note to end on, Hadar singing seductively over piano and a soft backing. This is a fine album.
