Joseph Parsons
Heavens Above
Blue Rose Records

Joseph Parsons's new album starts with the powerful title track, which is his highly personal account of the hurricane Katrina. He has a good voice and his songs resonate with empathic insight.

"Sitting On Top Of The World" is guested by the great Elliott Murphy and the two voices work well together. The song is beautifully and poignantly performed. "Skipping Stone" is a mid tempo song with a lyric about love. Parsons has a pleasing tone throughout. "Falling" is a nice song, Parsons managing a soft tone as a he sings of a deep sorrow. He's got a way with words and his album is just great.
