Ray LaMontagne
Gossip In The Grain
14th Floor Records

I suppose this third LaMontagne outing will be spoken for in most major web and printed music magazines. So, here's the Lunar take on it.

Having been flabbergasted by his first album (pre hype) and not that moved by his second, 'Til The Sun Turns Black, it seems Ray is more confident in his great and soulful voice, his writing abilities this time around.

The difficult third album is all in all better than his second, and might just grow to compete with the first. For those who were moved by the first, know what that means. A chunk of soul music, a piece of funky folk, a dash of sweet symphony and the power of a unique voice on top of it all. Buy - enjoy.
