Terami Hirsch
A Broke Machine
Madstone Records

Terami Hirsch has released a number of fine records on her own and this new effort sees her reaching further than ever before. Her voice is in spectacular shape, she sings with more confidence than before.

"Back to the Start" is a fine opener, Hirsch's gorgeous vocals set against a fine backing. "Chains of Andromeda" braces along, the singer setting a strange lyric against a metallic backing. Her newly empowered approach works wonders here. The title song is a sedate, and classical singer/songwriter moment. Hirsch sings of lost love with grace and insight. "Better Times" is sweet and puts the melody to the fore. There's much beauty here and it's possibly one of the year's best albums.
