Jewly Hight
Darlin' Understand
self-released

Jewly Hight's debut shows a seasoned performer taking in the blues and some country and making her own brew.

The title song is a confessional song with a great vocal and a melody that worms its way into the brain. "Knockin'" displays a tough; Bonnie Raitt-like vocal and a cool groove. "Some Things (Gonna be left Undone)" gives us more of her great song and tough attitude. "Pure Honey" is salty and nice as Hight sings of a tough life. This is a classy record and she'll no doubt make many more just like it.
