Mary is a Danish band fronted by songwriter Marie Ingerslev. The music's soft and jazzy with progressive leanings. "He Went Into a Painting" takes a surreal lyric and sets it against a calm backing. The jazz influences rear their head here and the vocal owes something to Kate Bush. "Try in My Heartland" is very pretty and allows the group to venture into a Jane Siberry-like mood. Torben Snekkestad's use of saxophone and clarinet colors the song nicely. The philosophical slant to "Reality is Only Imagination" is intriguing. Musically it's quite sweet and expansive. Not surprisingly the album is a very pleasant and stimulating listen.
